Bird Life of Suffolk

I recently spent a lovely day at Lackford Lakes putting my long-lens to good use, catching some shots of the local bird life.  I hope you like them:

Blowing my own Trumpet.....

I have another 2 photos on this web site:

Call that a bridge?

I’m currently sat in the air terminal at Athens airport waiting for my flight and do you know what......they give you free internet access!!  Why can’t we do that in the UK?  I suppose by paying for it in the UK (if we choose to) then we get to contribute some more taxes to help our wonderful Government out of a sticky situation.  I’m sure one day they will return the favour.
Anyway, whilst I’m sat here I thought I would put together a quick blog entry before deciding what size Toblerone to purchase.
Arriving in Greece late afternoon on Monday meant that I didn’t get to Lefkas until well after dark, but luckily I had brought my trusty Satnav and it did a pretty good job of map reading for me.  However, there was a moment where I questioned its reasoning when I arrived at the back of a car ferry!  Having previously checked a map and on Google-Earth I was sure that there was meant to be road all the way to my destination, so I back-tracked a little bit.  It was only when another car arrived and drove onto the ferry and straight off the other side that I realised that this was in fact a bridge!
You can see why I was confused......?
The next day I found out from the locals that the normal bridge goes away for a servicing once a year, for 2 weeks, and is replaced by the ferry!

In the daylight you can see the full picture.
As for the yacht hunting, I have found a very strong candidate......so stay tuned for more details (hopefully) soon.

I thought I would get a picture of this one before it was moved somewhere else.
I think I will skip the Toblerone purchase.

Still looking.........

This week I am out in Greece looking over some yachts.  Whilst driving around the islands I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw this beautiful panorama, so I thought I would share it with you:
I’ll let you know how the shopping goes.

The Gauntlet

I went down to Essex yesterday to photograph “The Gauntlet”, one of a series of similar races all organised and run by the Mucky Races team.
It’s a real mudfest of events......but the majority of participants managed to keep a smile on their faces for the duration of the course.
Well done to all of you who took part and for anyone that is looking for photos of the event, please click here:

Shine on you Crazy 'Aussie' Diamond

One of the Christmas presents that I was lucky enough to received last year was tickets to go and see the world famous Australian Pink Floyd Show, the biggest and most spectacular Pink Floyd Show on the planet! (Well that’s what it says on their official website.)
To see such a performance right here in Ipswich was great and the band played to a packed out venue.

Aussie Floyd  didn’t just sick to the better known PF tracks, but ventured well into the back catalogue whilst ensuring all the big-hits were included.

A fantastic light-show complemented the music and there was even an Aussie slant added to some of the intros.
That was my 3rd Pink Floyd experience in the past year; there is an analogy to buses in there somewhere.
