Sun, Snow and Mountains.

I gave up skiing back in 2007 after I suffered a knee injury whilst skiing at Mammoth out in the USA.  But I still enjoy the mountains during the winter so when the opportunity to go to the French Alps with a skiing party came up, I jumped at the chance.
MCL injury out in the USA - my skiing career is over!

Anita and I at 3227mtrs - Mont Blanc behind us.
Mont Blanc at Sunset.
Spending a week out in the fresh air in the shadow of Mont Blanc with my camera was fantastic and the summiting some of the lesser peaks in the area brought some breathtaking views, which I hope I have managed to do justice to with my photographs.

Of course the evenings brought the chance to share skiing tales, good food and wine with the rest of the party and a great time was had by all.

Winter wonder (Ipswich) land.

Well as we were (amber) warned yesterday, the snow dutifully arrived overnight.  So with my camera in hand, I headed out to try and catch a few shots of Ipswich in the clutches of winter.  It was lovely to see so many people out making the most of the deep and crisp and even snow and the kids getting some much needed exercise and fresh air.  I hope you like the scenes I captured......time for a hot drink now I think.

Destination - Earls Court.

Yesterday I went to the Destinations Travel show at Earls Court and enjoyed a day listening to some very good presentations on photography and also browsing the many holiday and travel stands that the various companies had put on there.  Of course I took my camera and here are just a few shots from what I saw there.

That's Entertainment!

Way, way back in last year, when it was warm and sunny.......(can you remember that?).......I went surfing down in Newquay.  After that I promised to put some photos of the action on here.  Unfortunately the duty photographer is still to produce the goods (personally I think he had left the lens cap on) so that promise is still to be fulfilled.  But here his one shot of Anita and I practicing on our boards before getting out on the water.
For those of you that didn’t know or hadn’t realised, most of the adventures I put on here are shared experiences and Anita is that special lady I share them with.  If you look back carefully through some of the earlier pictures you may just get a glimpse of her, although picking her out during the London Triathlon swim is just about impossible.
Yesterday we went to London to meet up with family and friends and went to watch Frank Skinner (and some of his friends) at the Noel Coward Theatre.  As soon as Frank walked on the stage he had his audience in stitches and his routine was so slick it almost appeared as if he had ad-libbed the whole evening.  There were also four support acts (Frank’s friends) and of particular note was Doc Brown, a young comedian who I had never seen or heard of before, but if last night was anything to go by he has a great future and I predict he will be on the small screens in our homes soon - if he isn't already.  Lee Nelson was also there and again he had us holding our sides as he hit us with his one liners, changing tack so quickly he never failed to raise a laugh from us.
All I can say is, if you go and see Frank, don’t sit in the front row.......
Back to London for me today........maybe another entry here tomorrow......stay tuned and have a great day.
