Suspension........

I recently attended the last of my Personal Trainer courses and this time it was “suspension” training.......also sometimes known as TRX.  It’s definitely a good work out and will add variety to any exercise program, quickly bringing results.  However........... if you are buying a ‘TRX’ set it will set you back more than the cost of my course, so its worth considering the alternatively branded systems out there.  Some of you will not have a clue of what I am talking about, so here is a link to a short video that will give you a better idea..........and probably put you off having a go!!!

Barcelona - Park Guell

Park Guell is in the northern part of the city and a bit of a trek to get to, but it is worth it.  The intent of Eusebi Guell, the owner of the land, was to have 60 homes developed here, however, the park itself was a venture of Antonio Gaudi who lived in one of the two homes that actually got completed there.

Gaudi developed the serene park between 1910-14 to entice people to live there. Eventually the park, that was intended to replicate an English garden, became a visiting place for the locals to get away from the grime of the crowded city center and it seems to fulfill much the same function now for both locals and tourists alike.

There are a variety of shapes and designs throughout the park, with a sitting arena with thousands of mosaics imbedded into the concrete, irregular and rough terrace walls and columns holding up an upper portion of the park. I hope my pictures go some way to capture the atmosphere of this beautiful location.

Barcelona, a city for everyone.

I recently had a short-break in Barcelona and managed to pack quite a bit into 5 days.  As a city, Barcelona has something to offer everyone; from designer-shopping to market stalls, water-sports to lazing on the beach, from historical buildings to modern sculptures and so much more.

My next few blog entries will hopefully give you a photographic taste of what’s on offer, just in case you ever find yourself in Catalonia with time to spare......
